HELUKABEL Vietnam’s actions for Global Recycling Day (March 18)
To promote the spirit of Global Recycling Day (March 18), we HELUKABEL Vietnam have undertaken various practical initiatives to reduce plastic waste, giving discarded plastic bottles a more sustainable life cycle.
A glance at Global Recycling Day (March 18)
Every year, the Earth yields billions of tons of natural resources and at some point, in the not too distant future, it will run out. That’s why we must think again about what we throw away – seeing not waste, but opportunity.
Global Recycling Day was established in 2018 to help recognise, and celebrate the importance recycling plays in preserving our precious primary resources and securing the future of our planet. It is a day for the world to come together and put the planet first.
Recycling is a key part of the circular economy, helping to protect our natural resources. According to Global Recycling Day website, each year, recyclables save over 700 million tonnes in CO2 emissions and this is projected to increase to 1 billion tons by 2030. There is no doubt recycling is on the front line in the war to save the future of our planet and humanity.
HELUKABEL Vietnam’s response to Global Recycling Day
Over the past month, HELUKABEL Vietnam has implemented various initiatives to raise awareness and encourage environmental actions:
- Established a Plastic Collection House at the office
- Launched the HELURECYCLE campaign
- Encouraged individuals to clean and sort plastic waste
- Collected plastic waste for delivery to recycling units
Achievements from February 11 to March 18:
- Collected nearly 1,000 used plastic bottles, boxes, cups…
- Received enthusiastic participation from employees across all departments
With the message “Let old plastic bottles tell new stories”, we HELUKABEL Vietnam hope that the HELURECYCLE campaign has contributed to reducing plastic waste and extending the lifecycle of plastic materials in a more sustainable way.
Moving forward, we HELUKABEL Vietnam will continue to maintain this initiative internally while expanding and integrating other environmental protection activities, joining hands in building a greener, more sustainable future!
