The MC4-Evo 2A connector is a specialized component designed for connecting DC cables together, or between solar panels, or between DC cables and inverters. This product consists of a pair of male and female connectors with compatible designs that securely lock together when connected.

The MC4-Evo 2A connector meets the IEC 62852:2014+A1 Standard, an international standard set by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). This standard outlines the technical and safety requirements for connectors in photovoltaic systems, ensuring safe, efficient, and durable performance under various environmental conditions.

According to the manufacturer's documentation, the MC4-Evo 2A connector system features a 4 mm diameter and a rated voltage of 1500 V for direct current (DC). The rated current varies depending on the cable standard, as follows:

These tools must meet the manufacturer's specifications to be compatible with the connector.

When connecting the MC4-Evo 2A connector, it's crucial to use Class 5 or Class 6 cables with tinned copper cores. Please note that oxidized or bare copper conductors are not allowed. For safety reasons, Stäubli also prohibits the use of PVC cables as well as non-tinned cables of type H07RN-F.

Though assembling the MC4-Evo 2A connector requires specific technical skills, the process can be summarized in the following basic steps:

- First, strip cable to dimension 6.0 mm to 7.5 mm. After stripping, ensure that individual strands remain intact without deformation.

- Mount connector only once and do not modify connectors after assembly.
